Actor/activist Martin Sheen joined actress/activist Jane Fonda on Friday at a rally in Washington, D.C. and got himself arrested for disorderly conduct.
“This woman has been one of my heroes nearly all of my adult life,” Sheen told the crowd of protestors about Fonda before launching into a fiery, if incoherent, oration and prayer: “Where knowledge is free, where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls, where words come out from the depths of truth and tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection, where a clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sands of dead habit!
“Where the mind is led forward by thee, and the ever-widening thought and action into that Heaven of freedom, dear father. Let our dear country awake!” he concluded. Later in the day he was arrested.
Indeed, dear Father, let our dear country awake from the hypnotic state induced by progressivism that has half the country in its irrational, totalitarian grip.
