Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore dismissed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi‘s waning power Monday by stating that “white people” and “their old tired privileged ways are over.”
After TIME editor Anand Giridharadas tweeted criticism of Pelosi for minimizing the growing power of a far-left faction led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Moore responded, “White people. Nobody likes giving up power. And they never see the writing on the wall. The new day arrives and no one has the heart to tell them they and their old tired privileged ways are over.”
