Documentary propagandist Michael Moore took to social media on Monday to claim that President Trump is guilty of “treason” for “threatening civil war,” and “must be removed” from office.
Moore was responding to a Trump tweet in which the president quoted Pastor Robert Jeffress, who said on Fox News that if Democrats are successful in impeaching Trump, “it will cause a Civil War like fracture in this Nation from which our Country will never heal.”
Moore twisted this to accuse Trump of threatening civil war. “Isn’t threatening civil war an act of treason?” he tweeted. “On Friday he had the head of the NRA meet him in the White House. The message was clear: We have guns. They’re convinced liberals are scared by threats of violence. This dangerous, sick individual must be removed as soon as possible.”
It is senseless demagoguery like this, not a Trump retweet, that is pushing the country toward violence and civil war.
