De Blasio: Protests Are Against ‘400 Years of American Racism’

June 3, 2020

In a press conference on Tuesday, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio defended the rioters in NYC as responding to “400 years of American racism,” and claimed they had a more legitimate reason to ignore coronavirus guidelines than the average “store owner or the devout religious person who wants to go back to services.”

“We’re in the middle of a national crisis, a deep-seated national crisis,” de Blasio pontificated. “There is no comparison. I’m sorry, I do feel for the store owners. I really do. … And I’m so happy that on Monday, we’re going to start to open up.

“But this is the other piece of the equation, when you see a nation, an entire nation, simultaneously grappling with an extraordinary crisis, seated in 400 years of American racism, I’m sorry, that is not the same question as the understandably aggrieved store owner or the devout religious person who wants to go back to services,” he continued.

Put more honestly: Democrats have a double standard that favors anarchists and punishes law-abiding citizens.
