Arrogant CNN host (but I repeat myself) Chris Cuomo leaped to the defense of teen climate activist Greta Thunberg on Thursday and was promptly excoriated on social media for his hypocrisy about Covington high school student Nicholas Sandmann.
“Why do these Trumpers think it is OK to go at a kid?” Cuomo tweeted, referring to Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin’s dismissal of Thunberg. “Is she the chief economist? Who is she? I’m confused,” Mnuchin joked. “After she goes and studies economics in college, she can come back and explain that to us.”
“Didn’t your garbage network just settle a nine-figure lawsuit for defaming a Catholic child at a pro-life march?” tweeted The Federalist co-founder Sean Davis. “Chris, your network literally just settled with a Covington High School kid after you smeared him,” wrote political strategist Caleb Hull.
Mnuchin is right, of course; Thunberg is a child puppet of manipulative climate change hysterics, not an expert. And unlike Sandmann, she is a public figure.
