Overview

* In Lawrence Wittner’s 2003 book, Toward Nuclear Abolition, Rob Prince, a veteran of the Communist Party USA’s National Council, describes how he was “part of a nucleus of Communist Party activists” that established USPC.

* In 1980, USPC stated that the same Americans “who brought us the Cold War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and soaring military budgets and assorted ‘Soviet threats’ are now creating a new crisis” — a reference to America’s claim that the USSR’s
invasion of Afghanistan was symptomatic of Soviet expansionism.

* Viewing the U.S. as a militaristic aggressor and a constant threat to international harmony, USPC has invariably opposed American interventions abroad—most notably in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Colombia, Grenada, Panama, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
