* Embracing the notion that the greenhouse gases associated with human industrial activity are major contributors to potentially catastrophic climate change, Aguilar has condemned President Trump’s efforts to revitalize the coal industry and to promote oil and gas exploration. On April 22, 2017 (Earth Day), Aguilar tweeted: “Science is real. Climate change is real. And the danger the Trump administration poses to the future of our environment & planet is real.”
* In 2015, Aguilar voted against H.R. 36, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, a bill designed to prohibit abortions after a fetus has reached 20 weeks of age, except in cases where: (a) the abortion is necessary to avert the death of the pregnant woman, or (b) the pregnancy is a result of rape or incest against a minor.
