The Islamic Front (al-Jabha al-Islamiya) is a small Lebanese Islamist group consisting of just under 100 members. Founded in 1985 by Sheikh Mahir Hammud, it brought together sheikhs and lay leaders. Its program is generally critical of Western nations and their Arab allies, particularly vis a vis their willingness to make peace with Israel.
