In an interview with The Root on Tuesday, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer suggested that black protesters would be killed by Michigan State Police if they attempted to “storm” the capitol building
Asked about the “mostly white” armed protesters who recently entered the state capitol to protest Whitmer’s draconian lockdown order, Whitmer responded that “It is lawful to bring a gun into the capitol,” although she would like to see the law changed to ban firearms from the building.
“How do you respond to people who say that if there were a group of black men who stormed the state capitol that they would have been dead?” Whitmer was asked. She replied, “I understand why people would say that. And I don’t disagree.”
Whitmer should be ashamed of herself for refusing to defend her own police officers, even suggesting that some are racist murderers. These same officers didn’t even shoot rioters and looters in her state.
