Waters: Trump’s ‘Dog-Whistling’ Encouraged George Floyd Death

May 28, 2020

In an interview with TMZ on Thursday, Rep. Maxine Waters accused President Trump of “dog-whistling” and creating an environment leading to a police officer “enjoying” the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

“I’m reflecting of all the killings of young black men in particular but of course black women as well, at the hands of police and at the hands of white supremacists,” Waters said. “I’m thinking about the way that the president conducts himself in the way he’s dog-whistling. And I think that they are feeling that they can get away with this kind of treatment.

“I think that the officer who had his knee on [Floyd’s] neck enjoyed doing what he was doing,” she speculated, ranting that some officers actually begin their day hoping “to get me one today.” She concluded by blathering that “[w]e’ve got to deal with the fact that we’re in America with a justice system that does not work for everybody.”

Waters is a race-mongering demagogue. Accusations of “dog-whistling” are the Democrats’ go-to tactic when they need to invoke racism but have no evidence of it.
