The impeachment-obsessed Rep. Maxine Waters declared on social media on Tuesday that President Trump should not only be impeached, but should also be in imprisoned and “placed in solitary confinement.”
“I’m calling on the GOP to stop Trump’s filthy talk of whistleblowers being spies & using mob language implying they should be killed. Impeachment is not good enough for Trump. He needs to be imprisoned & placed in solitary confinement. But for now, impeachment is the imperative,” Waters tweeted.
This is unhinged demagoguery. Trump not only never implied that the purported “whistleblower” behind the Ukraine “scandal” should be killed, but he has committed no crime or impeachable offense, much less one serious enough for solitary confinement.
Waters had claimed last Thursday that Democrats “absolutely” have enough evidence to impeach, which isn’t remotely true. They’ve spent Trump’s entire term digging desperately for such evidence and found nothing. Their latest attempt will be just as fruitless.
