According to an Economist/YouGov poll released on Wednesday, Sen. Elizabeth Warren is gaining on frontrunner Joe Biden, while Sen. Kamala Harris continues her freefall from double digits after the first Democrat debate to fifth place.
Breitbart News reports that the poll, taken September 1-3, 2019, among 1500 U.S. citizens, found Biden continuing to lead the crowded primary field with 26% support from Democrat primary voters. Warren, however, is closing the gap, coming in at 21% support. Sen. Bernie Sanders has dropped to third with 14% support. South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg rose to fourth place with 6%, and Kamala Harris scraped together only 5% support.
Andrew Yang and Rep. Tulsi Gabbard tied at 3% each, with the remaining candidates managing just 2% support or less each. Twelve percent of Democrat primary voters said they were “not sure” who they would vote for if the election were held today.
