On MSNBC’s Kasie DC Sunday, 2020 presidential contender Sen. Elizabeth Warren claimed that President Trump has “embraced” and “encouraged” white nationalists with his rhetoric.
In the wake of a mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, by an unhinged white male who reportedly posted a manifesto online complaining about an invasion of immigrants over the southern U.S. border, Warren told host Kasie Hunt, “The president has embraced white nationalists. He has encouraged white nationalists. He is there with white nationalists, and when white nationalists embrace him, and call him their friend, you know, I take them at their word on that.”
Warren provided not a single example of a white nationalist whom Trump has “embraced” or “encouraged.” Asked if she believes Trump himself is a white nationalist, Warren weaseled her way around a direct answer: “Well, he certainly has done everything that the white nationalists have wanted him to do,” Warren claimed, again with no example or evidence. “The white nationalists have celebrated him.”
Later that same day, another mass shooting took place in Dayton, Ohio, carried out by a young white man who apparently was a socialist supporter of Elizabeth Warren.
