Warren: Too Busy with the Coronavirus to Endorse Bernie

April 2, 2020

Tuesday on Late Night with Seth Meyers, failed presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren claimed that she is too busy dealing with  the coronavirus pandemic to endorse her former competitor Bernie Sanders.

“You know, again, I really want to say that, right now, it’s less about the politics and much more about the crisis that our country is in, and I think that’s really where our focus has got to be at this moment,” Warren said when asked about endorsing Bernie. “So that’s where I’m keeping my attention right now. We don’t get to do any political rallies at this moment anyway.”

Asked about the possibility of being a running mate, Warren replied, “I have not talked with people about it. Look, I’m focused right now on this crisis… That’s just where my attention is focused right now, and frankly I think it’d be presumptuous for me to be doing anything else,” she added.

Warren’s reluctance is more likely due to the fact that Bernie’s opponent Joe Biden is being positioned as the party nominee by the Dem establishment.
