WaPo Admits the SPLC Losing Credibility

November 9, 2018

A feature in the Washington Post Thursday criticized the embattled Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), one of the country’s most well-funded “anti-hate” organizations, highlighting the group’s recent “blunders” such as labeling moderate Islam critic Maajid Nawaz and HUD Secretary Ben Carson “extremists.”

The Post admitted that the SPLC’s reputation has taken a hit in recent years thanks to its overzealous targeting of conservative groups such as the Family Research Center and the David Horowitz Freedom Center, which have been added to its “hate list.”

Those conservatives have been fighting back and forcing the SPLC to apologize and settle lawsuits.
