Wednesday on the failed CNN+ network’s awkwardly-titled Look Who Is Talking to Chris Wallace, anchor Wallace praised outgoing White House Press propagandist Jen Psaki ” for bringing “civility” back to the White House briefing room.
Wallace said, “You have been, I think it’s fair to say, been widely praised for your stint here at the White House. In fact, I have praised you for your stint here at the White House. How do you think you’ve done?”
Psaki said, “What was most important is that we reset the tone, that we reestablish the briefing room, the press office, and what we were doing as a source of information, accurate to the American people.”
After ending the interview, Wallace gushed, “The job of White House press secretary is tricky. You represent that president, but you’re paid by the American people. Handling those sometimes dueling obligations is a delicate balance. But Jen has done as good a job at it as any press secretary I can remember while restoring some much-needed civility to the White House briefing room. She will be missed.”
Fact checks: 1) the only incivility in the previous administration’s briefing room came from a uniformly hostile press, not from behind the podium; and 2) if Psaki has been “widely praised,” it has been by a sycophantic press corps — including the slimy Wallace — that supports the current administration’s agenda.
