VP Harris: ‘Racism Is Real in America, and It Has Always Been’

VP Harris: ‘Racism Is Real in America, and It Has Always Been’

March 22, 2021

In remarks at Emory University in Atlanta on Friday, Vice President Kamala Harris — a Jamaican-Indian woman elected to the second-highest office in the free world — condemned the United States as racist, xenophobic, and sexist.

“Racism is real in America and it has always been. Xenophobia is real in America and always has been. Sexism, too,” Harris said, referring to the six female Asians out of eight murder victims in a mass shooting in Atlanta.

Harris predictably suggested disingenuously that former President Trump was to blame for attacks on Asian Americans because he correctly referred to COVID-19 as the “Chinese coronavirus”: “For the last year, we’ve had people in positions of incredible power scapegoating Asian Americans, people with the biggest pulpits, spreading this kind of hate,” she claimed.

As the VP of the United States, Harris’ public (and demonstrably false) denunciation of America as a racist, sexist nation is disgusting and shameful, but par for the course for leftists in political office. Former President Barack Obama, for example, made denigrating and apologizing for the U.S. a major platform in his time in office.
