Rep. Rashida Tlaib claimed on Friday that President Trump’s expansion of the nation’s travel ban is racist.
“No more waiting,” Tlaib tweeted, referring to the rumor that the Trump administration is considering expanding the ban to cover more countries. “Too many Muslims have been intentionally targeted, discriminated against, separated from their families and denied opportunities solely based on their faith. Straight up racism!”
Fellow Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar urged her fellow representatives to pass the No Ban Act: “What do 5 out of 7 of these countries have in common? They are Muslim-majority countries the President already tried to ban. We need to pass the #NoBanAct immediately to stop this madness,” she wrote.
The madness is that Dems are labeling the travel ban on terror-linked countries “racist” (Islam is not a race) and a “Muslim ban” (nearly 90% of the Muslim world is unaffected). The ban, put in place by former President Obama, is on terror states. Tlaib should ask herself why most terrorism stems from Muslim countries.
