Rep. Rashida Tlaib took to social media to defend her colleague Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from Republican critics whom she claimed don’t have “a policy agenda” but a “hate agenda” that divides Americans by attacking “women of color.”
“The continued policing and bullying by Liz and her crew of the WOC [women of color] members of Congress is just proof that the GOP don’t have a policy agenda for the American people,” Tlaib tweeted Thursday in response to a controversy over Ocasio-Cortez’s comparison of detention centers on the southern U.S. border to concentration camps. GOP Rep. Liz Cheney was one of the vocal critics.
“Instead they want to focus on a hate agenda that doesn’t better our lives, but divides us more,” she added.
