Tennessee Rep. Introduces Bill Labeling CNN ‘Fake News’

January 30, 2020

Tennessee State Rep. Micah Van Huss on Wednesday proposed legislation in the state’s General Assembly which would recognize CNN and the Washington Post as “fake news,” according to Breitbart News.

“I’ve filed HJR 779 on behalf of a constituency that’s tired of fake news and Republicans who don’t fight,” the Republican Van Huss wrote in a Facebook post announcing his bill, which labels CNN, owned by Jeff Zucker (pictured above), and the Post “fake news” and “part of the media wing of the Democratic Party.”

It also accuses the media outlets of  “denigrating our citizens and implying that they are weak-minded followers instead of people exercising their rights that our veterans paid for with their blood” — an apparent reference to a recent CNN segment in which anchor Don Lemon and guests Rick Wilson and Wajahat Ali laughed and mocked Trump supporters as illiterate “credulous rubes.”

CNN and other news outlets have proven in the Trump era to be progressive activists rather than journalists.
