Major Democrat donor and former entertainer Barbra Streisand took to Twitter Thursday to assert that President Trump is “directly responsible” for what she claims is growing “hate and discrimination” among children in the United States.
“Trump is directly responsible for the hate and discrimination that is growing in this country,” Streisand tweeted. “And for our children — This is heartbreaking!”
The tweet linked to a recent WaPo article citing a 2016 teacher survey by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) claiming 2,500 incidents of “bigotry and harassment” can be “directly traced to election rhetoric.”
The SPLC, the leftist news media’s go-to source for assigning “hate” labels, is a discredited, partisan smear organization. The article provides no evidence that such incidents are “growing” in number. It also acknowledged that young Trump supporters also face bullying and harassment at school at rates higher than those experienced by some minorities.
