Stone: What Reagan Said About ‘Evil Empire’ Russia is True of U.S.

February 4, 2020

In an interview on Russia Today (RT) with former Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, filmmaker and dictator-loving conspiracy theorist Oliver Stone said President Reagan’s declaration of the Soviet Union as the “evil empire” applies equally to the United States.

“Empires fall. Let’s pray that this empire, these evil things… because we are the evil empire,” Stone claimed. “What Reagan said about Russia is true about us.”

Stone went on to claim that producers have blacklisted him because “Hollywood has changed since 2001. It has become more censored. The military, the CIA, the depictions of these organizations has been very favorable.” He also attacked Democrats for being as pro-war as the right: “Hillary Clinton… and Joe Biden are just as pro-war as any Republican Dick Cheney… It’s all right-wings fighting with right-wings.” How far left do you have to be to consider Hillary and Biden right-wing?

Like the anti-war activists of the 1960s and ’70s, Stone isn’t truly anti-war; he is just an America-hating propagandist.
