While Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) spoke on Saturday at a Washington branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) fundraiser in Seattle, Washington, protesters faced off against Omar supporters from the Party for Socialism and Liberation.
On Monday, Liberation, the socialist group’s newspaper, called Trump supporters at the protests “fascists”: “The fascist forces attempted to stand right by the main entrance to the venue; [the pro-Omar] activists quickly moved in to hold the territory, holding signs reading ‘We stand with our Muslim Neighbors’ and ‘We support Ilhan Omar-a brave woman.’”
An organizer with the Omar event came out that evening and thanked the socialist protesters for their support.
