In her eulogy at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Friday, Dominique Luzuriaga, widow of New York Police Department (NYPD) Officer Jason Rivera, specifically faulted woke new Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in front of thousands of mourners.
“Although you won’t be here anymore, I want you to live through me,” she said, addressing her husband, slain by a career criminal who was in turn shot dead by another cop. “The system continues to fail us. We are not safe anymore, not even the members of the service.
“I know you were tired of these laws, especially the ones from the new DA,” she continued. “I hope he’s watching you speak through me right now.”
The audience responded with a standing ovation for over half a minute, with Bragg present.
“I’m sure all of our blue family is tired too. But I promise, we promise, that your death won’t be in vain,” she added.
Police and detective unions have rightfully slammed Bragg’s far-left, pro-criminal arrest and sentencing reforms.
