Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer conceded on Wednesday that winning the four Republicans they need to allow additional witnesses to testify against President Trump in his impeachment trial is “unlikely,” according to Breitbart News.

“We’ve always known it will be an uphill fight on witnesses and documents, because the president and [Senate Majority Leader] Mitch McConnell put huge pressure on these folks,” Schumer declared during a break in the Senate trial.

Republicans, meanwhile, are expressing confidence that the sham impeachment is doomed. “I’m optimistic,” said Sen. John Cornyn, former Republican whip, referring to defeating the motion to bring in new witnesses. “I think the facts are all out there,” said Senate Majority Whip John Thune, another Republican. “I’ve counted the votes long enough to be fully confident when it’s over,” stated Sen. Roy Blunt.

Republican Sen. Martha McSally wrote on Twitter Wednesday, “I have heard enough. It is time to vote.”
