Thursday on CBS’ Late Show, 2020 presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders stated President Trump is “probably the most corrupt president” in modern American history, and affirmed that an impeachment inquiry “has got to move as quickly as possible.”
Earlier this week House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced a formal impeachment inquiry over a purported “whistleblower’s” complaint alleging that Trump urged the Ukrainian President to probe White House contender Joe Biden‘s business dealings there.
“Well, what I’m thinking is, that Donald Trump is probably the most corrupt president in the modern history of this country, and that the impeachment inquiry has got to move as quickly as possible,” said Sanders. “He is really an embarrassment to our country, and let’s get moving on the impeachment inquiry.”
Polls show most Americans don’t want impeachment, but Democrats, who have been unable to pin anything on Trump in three years, are desperate to impeach because they are terrified he will be reelected.
