The Republican National Committee (RNC) has approved a resolution “refuting the legitimacy” of the corrupt, discredited, leftwing smear organization known as the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).
The SPLC, itself a hate group, bills itself as an expert on hate groups, among which it includes mainstream conservative organizations and individuals including the Family Research Council (FRC), Trump speechwriter Stephen Miller, Islam critic Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the David Horowitz Freedom Center, and Freedom Center writer Daniel Greenfield. The RNC resolution notes that this “puts conservative groups or voices at risk of attack.”
Despite losing lawsuits and having inspired a violent attack on the FRC, the SPLC remains the left-dominated mainstream media’s go-to source for demonizing those conservative groups or voices.
From the RNC’s resolution: “WHEREAS, The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is a far-left organization with an obvious bias; WHEREAS, The SPLC makes a practice of incorrectly labeling persons and organizations as “hate groups”; WHEREAS, The actions of the SPLC have served to mobilize persons to act in hate and violence towards those on its ‘hate group’ list…
“Therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the SPLC is a radical organization, and that the federal government should not view this organization as a legitimate foundation equipped to provide actionable information to DHS or any other government agency.”
