Speaking after Friday’s ”Get Your Knee Off Our Necks” march in Washington, MSNBC host Al Sharpton praised pro athletes for boycotting their own games and “kicking serious ass” on social justice issues.

“They understand that their careers may last 3, 4, 5 years, but they’re gonna be black forever,” Sharpton said. “and that’s why they need to be a part of this movement.” He added that the athletes understand the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement because “they live in these communities.”

“Their family members,” Sharpton continued, ” any of them could be vulnerable. They know that they could be treated the same way [as Wisconsin police-involved shooting victim Jacob Blake]. And, I think it’s a tremendous thing,” Sharpton said of the players’ social justice activism.

Sharpton added that players such as insufferable blowhard LeBron James “helped the movement tremendously.” Perhaps, but they aren’t helping professional sports tremendously. Viewer ratings and attendance for all sports in which players virtue-signal their anti-Americanism and BLM support are plunging. Sports won’t ever be the same.
