Filmmaker and anti-Trump hysteric Rob Reiner couldn’t set aside his rabid political messaging even for Christmas Day, urging Christians to reconsider their support of President Trump in light of his administration’s border enforcement policies.
“I’m not a Christian. But I try to live by the teachings of Jesus,” Reiner claimed on Twitter. “There is nothing more morally profound than treating people as you would like to be treated. There is nothing less moral than taking babies from their mothers. As the birth of Jesus is celebrated, consider.”
In a similar tweet from June of last year, Reiner wrote hyperbolically that “[r]ipping children away from their parents is fascism pure and simple.”
This is demagogic nonsense from an open-borders virtue-signaler. Children are not being ripped from their mothers’ arms at the border. When they are separated from adults arrested crossing the border illegally, it is to make sure they aren’t being exploited by human smugglers and other security threats.
