Reiner: McCarthy ‘Disgraceful’ for Scowling During Biden’s SOTU

Breitbart News reports that unhinged former filmmaker Rob Reiner attacked House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on Twitter, calling him “disgraceful” for “scowling” during alleged President Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night.

“How does an American Speaker of the House sit and scowl and not applaud American success? Disgraceful,” Reiner tweeted.

American success? Former celebrities apparently live on a different planet from the one the rest of us live on.

Reiner has conveniently forgotten the “disgraceful” behavior of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who ripped up a copy of former President Trump’s SOTU address at the end of his speech in 2020. In fact, she received a standing ovation from House Democrats for it.

Social media respondents wasted no time reminding Reiner.

“You’ll note that he’s not tearing up the script for the State of the Union Address like Nancy Pelosi disgracefully did several years ago. Maybe you ought to think before you tweet once in awhile Rob,” one Twitter user reacted.

“You mean like how Pelosi tore up the speech? Or the time she sat and chewed on snacks the whole way though the speech? Or the time she kept rolling her eyes?” another commented.

“Is this a parody account?” a third asked.

“Ask Nancy Pelosi,” another Twitter user stated.

Others simply responded to the actor’s tweet with photos and video footage of Pelosi ripping up Trump’s speech.

Earlier on Tuesday, McCarthy responded to questions about whether he would act in the same manner as Pelosi by ripping up President Biden’s State of the Union speech, to which he stated he does not believe in such “theatrics.”
