Reiner: A Trump Gettysburg Speech Would Be a Tribute to ‘White Supremacy’

August 11, 2020

Filmmaker and angry, anti-Trump Twitter warrior Rob Reiner tweeted Monday that if President Trump were to deliver a speech accepting his party’s nomination at the historic Civil War battlefield at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, it would be a tribute to “White Supremacy.”

“Trump brilliantly narrows down the location of his acceptance speech. Either break yet another law and do it at the WH, or do it at Gettysburg and celebrate your devotion to White Supremacy,” Reiner wrote.

The law he is referring to is the Hatch Act, which critics say would prevent the president from giving a political speech at the White House.

Reiner’s race-mongering take on Gettysburg as the possible site for a Trump speech is consistent with other leftist commentators, who argue inexplicably that choosing the site of a crushing Southern defeat makes President Trump pro-Confederacy. This illogical stupidity demonstrates just how desperate Democrats are as the election date draws closer.
