Wednesday on MSNBC’s The ReidOut, race-mongering propagandist host Joy Reid commented on the fatal police shooting of knife-wielding black teen Ma’Khia Bryant in Columbus, Ohio, remarking that she remembers fights in school where a kid had a knife “and teachers were able to defuse that, and they didn’t have guns.”
While asking St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department Lt. and Ethical Society of Police member Cheryl Orange how police should handle a situation like the Bryant shooting, Reid said, “I remember fights in even high school, or even younger than that, where a kid brought a penknife or something to school and teachers were able to defuse that, and they didn’t have guns.”
Anyone who viewed the bodycam footage from the officer who shot Bryant can plainly see that she was a split-second away from plunging a kitchen knife (not a “penknife”) into another black girl — anyone, that is, who is an honest person not driven by an anti-police political agenda.
The conflict was far beyond the point at which it could be “defused.” If the cop had hesitated one more second, Bryant likely would have killed the other girl — and then the cop would be blamed by the race-baiting media for not stepping in to save her.
