Thursday on MSNBC’s Hallie Jackson Reports, transgender Assistant Secretary for Health Dr. Rachel Levine said that misgendering a trans person was “mean-spirited” and denigrating to “trans youth.”
Asked how he personally “navigates” being misgendered, Levine said, “Well, you know, I am absolutely able to navigate that. I’ve been doing this a while. But what I worry is how those mean-spirited comments affect other transgender individuals who are more vulnerable than I am, particularly trans youth who we need to support and to empower in their lives, not to denigrate. So I’m fine, but we have to support others that are more vulnerable.”
Asked about purported “anti-trans legislation” — meaning commonsense legislation such as Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ law preventing the teaching of sexuality and gender ideology to children age 9 and under — Levine said, “Well, those anti-trans, those transphobic actions that states have taken are quite politically motivated.”
Fact check: it is the bullying trans lobby, not the GOP, that is politically motivated. Legislation protecting all young children from the left’s pornographic sexual education and gender ideology indoctrination, and protecting parental rights, is not “transphobic” or even politically partisan.
But it is pro-family, and that is why the Marxist left is so rabidly opposed to it.
