White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed falsely on Friday that the filibuster was “allowing for systematic racism in the country.”

Asked if President Joe Biden thought the filibuster was a legacy of the Jim Crow era in 2005 when he defended it, Psaki explained the filibuster is being used now five times more often than between 1917 and 1971, and “is not being used for the intended purpose.” Instead, she claimed, “It is being abused. And, yes, there are scenarios, as it related to voting rights, where it is — um — oppressing — it is allowing for systematic racism in the country.”

Fact check: there is no systemic racism in America, unless you count the systemic racism against whites that Democrats are implementing in corporations, government, and schools across the country.

Asked in his first solo press conference Thursday if he would support ending the filibuster “when it comes to voting rights and civil rights,” Biden replied weakly that he has “an open mind about dealing with certain things that are just elemental to the functioning of our democracy, like the right to vote.”

Every legal citizen in America has the right to vote. Democrats want to undermine election integrity by making it easier to cheat. That’s not exactly “elemental to the functioning of our democracy,” but Biden and his fellow Democrats don’t care. They care about power by any means necessary.
