Rep. Ayanna Pressley will introduce a resolution Tuesday calling for an impeachment inquiry against Justice Brett Kavanaugh in the wake of a new decades-old allegation of sexual misconduct made in the New York Times.
“I believe Christine Blasey Ford,” Pressley declared in a statement. “I believe Deborah Ramirez. It is our responsibility to collectively affirm the dignity and humanity of survivors.”
“Sexual predators do not deserve a seat on the nation’s highest court and Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation process set a dangerous precedent. We must demand justice for survivors and hold Kavanaugh accountable for his actions,” Pressley stated, even though the alleged victim herself has stated she does not even recall any such assault.
Like other Democrats calling for Kavanaugh’s impeachment, Pressley prioritizes “believing all women” over the fundamental legal right of due process.
