Speaking before students and faculty of the San Carlo school of Milan gathered in the Vatican Saturday, Pope Francis warned against fearing migrants and declared that cultures “grow richer by welcoming others.”
“Let us thank God for a multi-ethnic and multicultural society,” the pope said, “because dialogue among cultures, persons, and ethnicities is richness… We must not be afraid of the water of life, of this multi-ethnicity, of this multiculturalism, and here I touch on a sore topic: don’t be afraid of migrants… This is the beauty of human generosity. We grow richer by welcoming others. Richer in culture, richer in growth,” Francis added.
