Poll: Warren Passes Sanders to Second Place Behind Biden

According to a poll conducted by The Economist and YouGov released Wednesday, Sen. Elizabeth Warren has passed Sen. Bernie Sanders to take second place behind Joe Biden in the race for the 2020 Democrat nomination for president.

Warren scored 16% to Sanders’ 12%, both trailing Biden at 26%, when the poll’s 1500 respondents were asked whom they would vote for if their state’s Democrat primary or caucus were to be held today.

Warren was also viewed by respondents as a more acceptable nominee for the Democratic Party than Sanders. When asked which candidate they were considering voting for in 2020, respondents put Warren (45%) just below Biden (50%). Sanders was ranked fourth at 38% behind Sen. Kamala Harris at 39%.
