Poll: Only 42% of U.S. Voters Oppose Critical Race Theory

August 30, 2021

In a new poll, the Club for Growth found that only 42% of Americans oppose the teaching of the neo-Marxist racist ideology of Critical Race Theory (CRT) in K-12 schools.

That figure of 42% is still significantly higher than the 29% who believe CRT should be taught in schools, but combined with the 28% who remain unsure, that now only puts those opposed into a significant minority, it also reveals the extent to which too many Americans are either ignorant of what CRT actually is, or have been brainwashed into believing it is a positive belief system to teach to children.

Predictably, 72% of Republicans and 40% of Independents oppose CRT being taught in schools, while a plurality of Democrats, or 48%, believe it should be taught.

The poll also found that those respondents who learned more about CRT become less likely to support it. Asked, for example, if they agreed with the statement professed by a leading CRT scholar, “In order to truly be antiracist, you also have to truly be anti-capitalist,” 49% of voters disagreed with the statement.

While that is a majority, it is a disturbingly low percentage. The defenders of our country and our way of life have a lot of work to do.
