Poll: Michigan Opposes Tlaib on Impeachment

Poll: Michigan Opposes Tlaib on Impeachment

June 6, 2019

A new poll shows that Michigan opposes Congress bringing impeachment proceedings against President Trump — a strong rebuke of Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who submitted an impeachment resolution in late March.

A survey conducted last week by the Detroit News and WDIV-TV revealed that approximately 53 percent of Michigan voters are against impeachment, with 40 percent in favor. Forty-one percent are “strongly” opposed, with only 27 percent “strongly” supportive. Fifty-nine percent of independent Michigan voters oppose impeachment as well.

Just hours after her swearing in as a freshman member of Congress, Tlaib courted controversy by swearing, “We’re going to impeach the m*therf*cker.”
