Poll: Majority of NY Voters Prefer ‘Someone Else’ to Cuomo

July 2, 2021

A Siena College poll released on Thursday found that a majority of New York voters prefer “someone else” to lethally incompetent Gov. Andrew Cuomo winning re-election.

The poll found that 56% to 35% “would prefer a generic ‘someone else’ to Cuomo,” including 60% of independent voters and 42% of Democrats.

23% of voters wisely “want him to resign immediately; 39% want him to finish his current term in 2022 and not run again; 33% want him to remain in office and seek another four-year term.”

The poll comes as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand have called on Cuomo to step down following allegations of inappropriate sexual misconduct, in addition to his coronavirus nursing home scandal. The allegations resulted in 47% of New York voters in June viewing him as unfavorable. His job approval rating also stands at an abysmal 41% of voters.
