The Miami Beach Police Department on Wednesday released photos and bodycam footage captured on the night officers discovered failed Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum naked and incoherently drunk inside a hotel room with two other men last month.
When officers were called to the Mondrian South Beach Hotel for a suspected drug overdose on March 13, Gillum and companions were found with 3 baggies of crystal meth in the room. The 26 photos show a vomit-splattered pillow and bottles of prescription medication spilled onto the floor. Gillum was reportedly so drunk he couldn’t communicate with officers.
Gillum claimed he was in Miami Beach attending a friend’s wedding (no reporter has apparently been curious enough to locate that friend or the wedding for confirmation). After the hotel encounter became public, Gillum announced he was entering rehab, saying he had fallen into a depression and alcohol abuse after losing his bid for governor to Ron DeSantis.
Florida dodged a bullet when Gillum lost.
