In a CNN interview on Wednesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she hopes to get more Progressive provisions in the next coronavirus relief package.
“We couldn’t get everything we wanted in the other bill, [so] let’s begin to go down this path,” Pelosi said with surprising honesty about her party’s agenda in a time of crisis for American citizens.
In her own stage three bill, some of the provisions she tried to pass included: same-day voter registration, early voting, voting by mail, and ballot harvesting; funds for Planned Parenthood; automatic extension of nonimmigrant visas; $300,000,000 for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting; requirements for federal and corporate racial diversity data; and $35,000,000 for the John F. Kennedy Center.
In the upcoming “phase four” coronavirus response bill, she will push harder to include more leftist special interests. As former Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel once infamously noted, you never want to let a serious crisis go to waste. And the Democrats never do.
