Pelosi: Trump ‘Will Not Be Acquitted’ if No Witnesses

January 30, 2020

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters on Thursday that President Trump would not be acquitted if his impeachment trial does not include “witnesses and documents and that.”

“He will not be acquitted. He cannot be acquitted if you don’t have a trial” Pelosi said. “If you don’t have a trial, if you don’t have witnesses and documentation and that.

“I would hope that the senators, if it comes to a tie or if there’s a question of hearing testimony or receiving documents, would leave it up to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Republican-appointed in a Republican Majority court,” she added. I would think that they would have confidence in the Chief Justice of the United States. That is really his title.”

The Democrats have presented plenty of “witnesses and documentation and that” from the very beginning of this shameful process. What they haven’t presented is evidence of impeachable wrongdoing. That’s why President Trump is going to be acquitted and go on to reelection in November.
