Pelosi: Trump Not Wearing Mask is ‘a Vanity Thing’

May 7, 2020

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi complained on Wednesday that President Trump is not honoring his own administration’s guidelines to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, and that he refuses to wear a mask because of “vanity.”

“It’s a vanity thing, I guess, with him,” Pelosi told MSNBC a day after Trump refused to wear a mask at a mask-making plant in Arizona. “You’d think as the president of the United States, you would have the confidence to honor the guidance that you are giving others in the country. Yes, he should have worn a face mask.”

“Why should I have a mask when I’m president of the United States?” Pelosi continued.

“I don’t know, somehow sitting in the Oval Office behind that beautiful Resolute Desk — the great Resolute Desk — I think wearing a face mask as I greet presidents, prime ministers, dictators, kings, queens, I don’t know. Somehow, I don’t see it for myself,” Trump said in April.

Speaking of vanity, the massively wealthy Pelosi sports a $22 “designer” mask in public.
