California Democrat Nancy Pelosi said Friday that many women, including her own daughter, believe President Trump is trying to “break the #MeToo movement.”
Speaking at her weekly news conference, Pelosi was asked about Thursday’s Senate hearing where lawmakers heard from Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser Christine Blasey Ford.
Pelosi said many women feel that the president and Republican lawmakers “don’t care” what sexual assault victims have to say. A reporter asked her if she agrees with her daughter that the president is working against the #MeToo movement. “Yes, I do.”
