In an online video to her San Francisco-area constituents, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi accused the protesters at the U.S. Capitol last week of choosing “whiteness over democracy.”

“It has been an epiphany for the world to see that there are people in our country led by this president, for the moment, who have chosen their whiteness over democracy,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi, who herself is white, did not explain what it means to choose whiteness, or clarify what whiteness supposedly is. Nor did she acknowledge that not all the Trump protesters were white.

In an interview with CBS News’s 60 Minutes set to air Sunday night, Pelosi also shamefully called Trump “deranged, unhinged, and dangerous” and suggested he should face prosecution for his purported incitement of the Capitol Hill chaos.

Not once last year during the nationwide Black Lives Matter riots did Pelosi ever denounce the looters as choosing blackness over democracy. But after this one incident in D.C. she rushed to smear Trump supporters as white supremacists trying to undermine democracy, when in fact they were patriots objecting to the Democrats’ blatant theft of the presidential election. So in fact, Trump supporters chose democracy while Pelosi’s party chose criminality and lies, as they always do.
