Monday on CNN, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi complained that President Trump should not be taking hydroxychloroquine to combat the coronavirus because he is “morbidly obese.”
Asked if she is concerned about Trump taking the drug, Pelosi replied, “As far as the president is concerned, he’s our president and I would rather he not be taking something that has not been approved by the scientists, especially in his age group and in his, shall we say, weight group — morbidly obese, they say.”
Not approved by scientists? Trump is taking the drug under medical supervision. “I think it’s not a good idea,” she added nonetheless. Morbidly obese? Even at 72, Trump regularly gets clean bills of health from White House physicians.
Conservative actor and Twitter warrior James Woods struck back at Pelosi, slamming her on social media as “morbidly corrupt,” and Fox News host Tucker Carlson, referring to Pelosi’s obvious cosmetic surgery, jabbed that “People with glass faces should not throw stones.”
