O’Rourke: Parents Shouldn’t be Afraid of Critical Race Theory

August 4, 2022

Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke said Wednesday that teachers should have the autonomy to decide what “version of history” is taught, and that parents shouldn’t be “scared” of the Critical Race Theory (CRT) being pushed by far-Left educators.

“We don’t need to tell [a teacher] what version of history she is allowed to teach in a classroom. We don’t need to scare the parents of those kids… about something called CRT that I’ve never heard of before last year,” O’Rourke said.

The fact that the clueless O’Rourke claims never to have heard of CRT doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist or is an insignificant issue. It is a subversive strategy for inculcating a neo-Marxist racial consciousness in students, and parents all over the country have wakened up to the threat it poses and the damage it’s doing to their kids and society.

These are the parents O’Rourke condescendingly suggests have nothing to fear from this “version of history” that teachers shouldn’t be questioned about. In fact, teachers absolutely should not be allowed to propagandize a false version of history.

Throughout his campaign, the gun-grabbing totalitarian O’Rourke has emphasized that, in the clash between concerned parents and Marxist educators, he stands with the latter: “Instead of attacking teachers, I’ll be a governor who has their backs,” he had said in June.
