A University of Texas/Texas Tribune Poll released Wednesday shows that White House hopeful Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke is falling behind his competitors even in his home state of Texas.
Breitbart News reports that Texas voters are overwhelmingly choosing frontrunner Joe Biden (with 26 percent support) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (18 percent) over third place O’Rourke (14 percent). Sen. Bernie Sanders has closed the gap to just two points behind O’Rourke.
Sen. Kamala Harris, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Julián Castro, Andrew Yang, and Rep. Tulsi Gabbard followed with five percent, four percent, three percent, three percent, and two percent, respectively. The remaining candidates are at one percent.
The Texas Tribune said of O’Rourke’s floundering, “If you look at this in the context of the trajectory of the polling in this race, Warren is moving and O’Rourke is static — not only nationally, but in his own state.”
