Former Rep. Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke (D-TX) said he is “excited” to share his decision on whether he will run for president in 2020.
O’Rourke told The Dallas Morning News that he has ruled out running for the U.S. Senate in Texas and is expected to announce his bid for the White House soon. “[Wife] Amy and I have made a decision about how we can best serve our country,” he said, adding that he is “excited to share it with everyone soon.”
O’Rourke, a Democrat darling ever since his Senate loss to Ted Cruz, has been the subject of intense speculation as to a 2020 run for the presidency.
